Uninstall IE8

IE removing from Windows Vista/Windows Server 2008

Start > Controlpanel > Click Uninstall a Program under the Programs category
In the Tasks pane, click View installed updates > Windows Internet Explorer 8 and continue with uninstallation.Once it is finished Restart the system.
Now your earlier version of Internet Explorer is restored.

IE removing from Windows XP/Windows Server 2003

Start > Controlpanel > Add Remove programs > Select Windows Internet Explorer 8 and remove
Once it is finished Restart the system.
Now your earlier version of Internet Explorer is restored.

Alternative methods using commands

IE removing from Windows Vista/Windows Server 2008

Start Cmd.exe, run as administrator and type
FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-8*.mum /c “cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart”
When the uninstall program is finished, restart your computer

IE removing from Windows XP/Windows Server 2003

Start Cmd.exe, run as administrator and type
%windir%\ie8\spuninst\spuninst.exe
When the uninstall program is finished, restart your computer

Note:
After you uninstall Internet Explorer 8, you may notice Application event log errors after each reboot. To resolve this problem, delete the following Internet Explorer User Accelerators and Internet Explorer Machine Accelerators registry keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions:

{CF7639F3-ABA2-41DB-97F2-81E2C5DBFC5D}
